Cultural Events
During the 6 months of participation at EXPO 2010 Shanghai, China, Romanian Pavilion will host multiple cultural events, in order to ensure increased visibility of Romanian cultural values and illustrate the richness and diversity of cultural expressions, from tradition to modernity. In terms of cultural program of Romania Pavilion the 6 months of exhibition were divided into 4 periods of a month and a half, as follows:
- Period 1 - May 1 to June 15
- Period 2 – June 16 to July 31
- Period 3 – August 1 to September 15
- Period 4 – September 16 to October 31
Live cultural events will take place daily between 10.00 - 20.00.The cultural program will cover a wide range of artistic genres: folk, classical music, mime, drama, choral music. The programs presented were selected from proposals submitted directly to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its website, www.mae.ro and from proposals received from the Romanian Cultural Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
We intend to create a comprehensive cultural program, including a significant diversity of representative artists of Romania. Artists / bands proposed for participation in the period May 1 to October 31, 2010:

Outside the Romanian pavilion, four events will be held in dedicated entertainment places of EXPO 2010:
- 28 May in Music Club, Performance Centre
- 22 June in Music Club, Performance Centre
- 29 Aughust in Entertainment Hall
- 17 September in Music Club, Performance Centre
Events duration is between 90 to 120 minutes and the venues for these events have a capacity of 800-1200 seats.
Romania will celebrate, in the Expo 2010 Shanghai China the National Day on July 29, 2010. The National Day program runs throughout the day starting July 29, 2010 at 10.00 and ending with a large show, at 18.00, in a 2500-seat hall, with the performance of: the National Radio Orchestra, Grigore Leşe and Damian Draghici.
Romania will also participate in events organized by the European Union in the 2010 Shanghai Expo, the first event being organized on 09 of May 2010 with the title "European Multicultural Parade. Other events organized by the European Union to which Romania wants to participate are: the European Cinema Festival, "European Puppet Theater", "Mobile Screen.
Romania Pavilion tries to organize as many cultural exchanges with the other countries participating in the exhibition; our interest is to promote the richness and diversity of Romanian culture at Expo 2010.
Commercial, economic and touristic promotion during EXPO 2010
During the participation at EXPO 2010 Shanghai, China, a special attention is granted in order to identify how the mutual dialog may increase bilateral cooperation, boost economic exchanges and direct investment in Romania.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in close cooperation with the Ministry for Economy, Commerce and Business Environment shall organize a series of economic and commercial promotion events, with the participation of Governmental delegations as well as delegations of businessmen from Romania and People’s Republic of China.
During these events we will seek to promote dialogue and set the background for developing further economic partnerships between the two countries, as well as the extensive exchange of experiences, creating new opportunities for an excellent relationship:
- Economic mission organized at the opening of EXPO 2010 Shanghai: Presentation of the main sectors of interest, opportunities and perspectives of the Romania foreign trade;
- Investment forum and general exhibition, on National Day at EXPO 2010 (July 29, 2010): Key-elements of the business environment, the competitive advantage of Romania and investment opportunities;
- 4 exhibitions in Romania Pavilion, lasting 10 days (technical products, clothing and textiles, wines and IT respectively).
During the course of EXPO 2010 will also take place events to promote tourism exchanges between the two countries.
