Two important delegations visit Romania's Pavilion

On August 5^th, 2010 Romania's Pavilion Expo 2010 Shanghai was visited by two official delegations, one headed by Thailand’s Minister of the Interior, Chavarat Charnvirakul, and the other headed by the deputy secretary general of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Sun Huai Shan.

Romanian Commissioner General for World Exhibitions Ferdinand Nagy gave the delegations the tour of the Pavilion, presenting its concept, the photography exhibition by Florin Andreescu, the Romanian restaurant, and the museum of Romanian history and civilization. The delegations also attended a performance by folk ensemble Nagyvarad from Oradea.

The guests spoke highly of the Pavilion’s design, the way the display space is arranged and the cultural-artistic performances provided on its premises.

Romania’s Pavilion at EXPO Shanghai 2010 is hosting, as of today, 16 October, the Romania-China Cultural Week. The event is part of the cultural diplomacy programme taking place in the Greenopolis pavilion. The event was inaugurated in the presence of the Commissioner General of Romania’s Exhibition in Shanghai, Ferdinand Nagy, and of the president of the local Parliament of Shaanxi Province, Ma Zhongping.

Thousands of messages have accumulated on the wooden cubes of the Play Space exhibition at Greenopolis Pavilion in Shanghai, expressing appreciation for Romania and the visitors’ impressions of its Pavilion. Developed by architect Adrian Neculai, together with the students of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, the exhibition’s concept is built around interactivity and play: every visitor that takes the tour of the Romanian Pavilion will reach the exhibition area and can leave a message on one of the wooden cubes.
