About 1,900,000 visitors came to EXPO 2010 Shanghai on 16 and 17 October, two weeks before the exhibition closes. On Saturday over one million persons and on Sunday 744,900 persons visited the pavilions of participating countries and organizations.

Romania’s Pavilion at EXPO Shanghai 2010 is hosting, as of today, 16 October, the Romania-China Cultural Week. The event is part of the cultural diplomacy programme taking place in the Greenopolis pavilion. The event was inaugurated in the presence of the Commissioner General of Romania’s Exhibition in Shanghai, Ferdinand Nagy, and of the president of the local Parliament of Shaanxi Province, Ma Zhongping.

Thousands of messages have accumulated on the wooden cubes of the Play Space exhibition at Greenopolis Pavilion in Shanghai, expressing appreciation for Romania and the visitors’ impressions of its Pavilion. Developed by architect Adrian Neculai, together with the students of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, the exhibition’s concept is built around interactivity and play: every visitor that takes the tour of the Romanian Pavilion will reach the exhibition area and can leave a message on one of the wooden cubes.
